From Surviving to Thriving : My Journey of Reconnection and Purpose
Discover how overcoming loss, burnout, and outdated masculine ideals helped me reconnect with myself -- and why I'm passionate about helping other men do the same.
About Me
Hey, I’m Jack Costello — and for a long time, I was doing what I thought I was supposed to do.
As the only boy in a family of four sisters, I took on the role of the steady one — working in the family business, managing a team of 40, and chasing success that looked good on paper.
But behind the scenes, I felt lost.
I was anxious, overthinking everything, and constantly doubting myself. No matter what I achieved, it never felt like enough.
I looked confident on the outside — but I was quietly asking myself:
“Is this it?”
“Why can’t I just relax?”
“Why do I still feel so empty?”
Like many high-achieving men, I was praised for being reliable and driven.
But beneath the surface, I was stuck in survival mode — afraid to slow down, afraid to stop performing, afraid I’d lose everything if I did.
I didn’t know it at the time, but I was living with low self-worth masked as ambition.
I had disconnected from who I really was.
“Vulnerability wasn’t welcomed — it was something to hide.”
The Catalyst
In my mid-20s, a trip to Thailand cracked something open in me.
What was meant to be a break from the grind turned into something much deeper — an identity crisis I couldn’t ignore.
For the first time, I had to admit how lost I really was.
I didn’t know who I was outside of achievement.
I didn’t know how to rest without guilt.
And I didn’t know how to feel without shutting down.
Then came COVID — and while the world slowed down, I panicked.
I was terrified of losing the only version of myself I had ever known.
But something inside me knew it was time.
I left the family business.
I travelled through South America.
I stopped trying to prove my worth and started trying to understand it.
Eventually, I landed in Australia — and for the first time, I began to meet the man I actually was beneath the mask.
“I didn’t know where I was going, but I knew I couldn’t keep living the way I had been.”
Finding Meaning in Grief
I lost my mum when I was 12.
With her went the emotional safety every boy needs.
That grief shaped me in ways I didn’t understand at the time — but I felt it in everything: in my relationships, in my sense of identity, and in my need to always hold it together.
I became the strong one. The capable one. The one who didn’t make a fuss.
But the truth is: I never really processed it.
I buried the pain and pushed forward — the way so many men are taught to.
Grief forced me to confront everything I’d been avoiding:
Who am I underneath the roles I’ve played?
What does strength look like without the armour?
Over time, I began to reclaim the parts of myself I used to hide — the sensitivity, the introspection, the emotional depth.
I realised these weren’t weaknesses. They were my power.
I had to teach myself how to feel.
How to regulate my emotions.
How to meet myself with compassion — even when I didn’t feel like I deserved it.
That loss didn’t just hurt — it gave my life meaning.
And it continues to fuel my desire to be the kind of role model I never had.
“Grief taught me that healing doesn’t mean forgetting — it means finally facing what you’ve been running from.”
Why This Work Matters
What I Saw Growing Up
I grew up in rural Ireland — a deep-feeling boy in a world where no one talked about feelings.
Vulnerability wasn’t welcomed. It was something to hide.
So, like a lot of men, I learned early on to suppress what I felt.
To perform. To stay in control. To be “the strong one.”
But that conditioning doesn’t just disappear.
It follows you into adulthood — into your work, your relationships, and your sense of self.
You learn to succeed, but you never feel successful.
You build a life that looks impressive — but inside, you feel anxious, on edge, disconnected.
And you don’t know why.
“We’ve been taught that strength means silence. But silence isn’t strength — it’s survival.”
Why I do this work
This isn’t theory for me — it’s lived experience.
I’ve walked through burnout, grief, identity loss, and the quiet shame of never feeling like enough.
Eventually, I found the work that helped me come back to myself:
Breathwork. Men’s circles. Inner healing.
Real conversations. Real connection.
I co-founded a men’s group called Man2Man to create the kind of space I never had — and now, I coach and facilitate full-time.
I help men unlearn the pressure, the perfectionism, and the performance — and remember who they are underneath all that noise.
“My mission is to support high-functioning men who are ready to drop the mask and live with clarity, purpose, and peace.”
If you’ve built a successful life but still feel empty inside — I see you.
If you’re always switched on but secretly exhausted — you’re not broken.
You’re just ready for something deeper.
Whether you’re at a crossroads, navigating burnout, or quietly asking “Is this it?” — I’m here to walk beside you as you reconnect with who you really are.
Today, I combine years of leadership experience with deep inner work to help men who look successful on the outside — but feel stuck on the inside.
If you’re ready to stop living on autopilot and finally feel fulfilled — not just accomplished — let’s talk. I help high-functioning men come home to themselves — grounded, emotionally free, and purpose- driven.
What Mask Have You Been Wearing
The world told you who to be. This quiz helps you remember who you are.
Most men have been taught to perform – to show up strong, silent, and in control, even when they’re hurting inside.
This short quiz helps you uncover the dominant pattern driving your behavior – and invites you to explore a more honest, grounded, and fulfilling path forward.
“Most men today live behind masks. They put them on in the morning and keep them on until they fall asleep at night, adopting the clichés of what they perceive a real man to be. The problem is, it’s all pretend.”
– Steve Biddulph

If You're Here, Maybe You're Ready Too
To stop performing. To stop pretending you’ve got it all figured out. To finally reconnect with the part of you that’s been buried under pressure, fear, or shame.
You’re not broken. You don’t need to be “fixed.” But you do deserve a space to breathe, to be seen, and to come home to yourself.

Let’s walk that path—together.
Our Mission
To redefine masculinity through emotional intelligence, grounded action, and aligned leadership.
What's the Mask You've Been Wearing?
At different points in my life, I’ve worn many masks. I was the high-achiever chasing success but quietly burning out. I was the silent one carrying the weight alone. I was the helper losing myself in the needs of others. I was the seeker questioning everything inside while smiling on the outside.
The Archetype Quiz was born from lived experience — and from years of working with men who share the same silent struggles.
These archetypes aren’t boxes to trap you. They’re mirrors. They help you name the hidden patterns that have shaped your decisions, your relationships, and your sense of self.
If you’re ready to explore what’s been driving you beneath the surface, the journey starts here.
